PRESS RELEASE

Talonvest Capital Launches Hospitality Finance Platform, Expands Senior Leadership Team with Addition of 30-Year Industry Veteran, Jeff Miller, to Lead Growth Initiative

January 5, 2026 — Newport Beach, CA

Talonvest Capital, Inc., a boutique advisory firm specializing in commercial and self storage real estate, today announced the expansion of its platform into the hospitality finance sector. The new platform will be led by Jeff Miller, one of the hotel industry’s most accomplished finance executives, who joins the firm with more than 30 years of global hospitality real estate experience.

Miller brings deep expertise across hospitality lending, investing, development, and advisory services, having executed complex transactions throughout the U.S. and international markets. Most recently, he served as Managing Director in the Hospitality Finance Group at Wells Fargo, where he originated $1.25 billion in hotel balance sheet loans and led underwriting for the platform. His experience spans full-cycle hotel finance, from deal structuring and underwriting to capital execution and portfolio management.

“Hospitality fundamentals are improving, capital structures are becoming more complex, and owners are increasingly seeking specialized advisory support to navigate today’s financing landscape,” said Thomas Sherlock, Co-Founding Principal of Talonvest Capital, a Newport Beach, CA-based firm. “This is the right moment for Talonvest to expand into the hospitality sector, and Jeff is the ideal executive to lead that growth effort. His depth of experience, institutional credibility, and global perspective align perfectly with our boutique, execution-focused approach. Jeff’s appointment underscores Talonvest’s commitment to providing best-in-class capital advisory services and thoughtfully expanding into sectors where we can add immediate value for clients.”

During his career, Miller has been directly involved in a wide range of notable recent hospitality financings and investments, including the origination of an $85 million loan for a six-property boutique hotel portfolio in Key West affiliated with a major brand; a $68 million construction loan for a branded beachfront resort in San Diego; a $65 million construction loan for a full-service independent hotel in Mountain View, California; and a $165 million syndicated loan for the expansion and renovation of a full-service resort in San Antonio. His transaction experience also includes complex distressed and value-add executions, such as the acquisition and restructuring of a $500 million full-service resort asset in Hawaii through the purchase of distressed mezzanine debt, as well as multiple control-oriented acquisitions involving mezzanine debt, bond purchases, and negotiated restructurings across U.S. hotel portfolios.

Before Wells Fargo, Miller was Senior Vice President of Investments & Business Development at Atrium Holding Company, one of the largest private owners of hotels in the U.S., where he was responsible for hospitality underwriting as well as distressed debt and hotel acquisitions and dispositions. Earlier in his career, he worked at Marriott International in development and feasibility roles, and began his hospitality career at Arthur Andersen, conducting feasibility studies, appraisals, tourism master planning, and M&A due diligence across the U.S., the Caribbean, South America, and more than a dozen international markets.

“The opportunity to launch and lead Talonvest’s hospitality finance platform—while leveraging the firm’s strong capital markets relationships and hands-on advisory model—is compelling,” said Miller, who will be based in Talonvest’s headquarters in Newport Beach and supported by a dedicated capital markets and underwriting team. “I look forward to collaborating with hotel owners, developers, and investors in the U.S. to deliver creative, tailored capital solutions across the hospitality spectrum.”

The launch into the hospitality finance sector reflects the firm’s continued growth and commitment to expanding its advisory capabilities to meet evolving client demand. Under Miller’s leadership, the platform will focus on sourcing debt and equity solutions for hotel owners, developers, and investors in U.S. markets to arrange and advise acquisition financing, refinancing, development capital, structured finance, and recapitalizations across the hospitality sector.
